The project, which involves ENEA, CNR, the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology, the Italian Institute of Technology, Energy System Research, and Standex International, aims to reduce the use of lithium and cobalt, critical metals for the European Union.

Orangees ‘ goal is to create advanced, high-performance, safe and low-cost materials using waste from the agri-food industry such as casein, whey, keratin, prickly pear and cellulose.
