“The project is aimed at contributing to the achievement of the highly challenging objectives required at community level in the energy sector and implemented by Italy through the Pniec, currently updated in light of the recent geopolitical crises ” states (Alessandra Di Blasi – Scientific Director of Orangees )
The project’s goal is to develop a new generation of more sustainable, high-performance, safe, and low-cost batteries using innovative materials derived from agri-food industry waste and reducing the use of critical metals such as lithium and cobalt. The project, which involves the collaboration of ENEA, CNR, and other research institutions, focuses on five research lines, with a particular focus on the development of semi-solid electrolytes, alternative organic materials, and green solutions derived from the recycling of industrial waste.
