A team of researchers from CNR, ENEA, IIT, and other institutions has launched a €4 million project to develop new generations of batteries based on sustainable, safe, and low-cost materials. The goal is to reduce dependence on critical raw materials such as lithium and cobalt and create more environmentally friendly batteries for disposal.
The ORANGEES project focuses on three main strands:
- Development of hybrid and organic materials .
- Search for organic substitutes .
- Exploitation of industrial waste .
